Phase IV -- Art exhibition, seminar and workshops for Primary School Teachers

Teachers' Seminar and Art Exhibition

Date: 14 July 2007 (Saturday)
Time: 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Venue: Agnès b. CINEMA!, Hong Kong Arts Centre
Language: Cantonese
Enrollment: 150 primary school teachers, acceptance on a first-come-first-served basis

  The seminar and art exhibition aims to introduce the available environmental education resources in WWF education centres as well as to provide an opportunity for teachers to share their experiences in organising Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and visual art programme in their schools. Participants of this seminar can obtain an "LoLo's Flying Journeys: An Education for Sustainable Development Primary School Education Pack" especially designed to promote ESD and environmental protection. All primary schools teachers are welcome!

Teachers' Workshops

4 workshop sessions will be organised on 16, 17 and 19 July 2007 in Mai Po Marshes Nature Reserve and Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park. Only seminar participants are able to enroll in workshop sessions. All enrollments will be made on a first-come-first-served basis.

Topic: When LoLo meets artists
Date: 16 July 2007, Monday
Venue: Mai Po Nature Reserve
Time: 8:15am-1:30pm
Enrollment: 30 primary school teachers
Content:
  • Introduction of Mai Po wetland
  • Demonstration of ESD game "LoLo's flying journey"
  • Making of art works inspired by nature

Topic: Education for sustainable development: Art and Gei Wai
Date: 16 July 2007, Monday
Time: 4:00pm-8:30pm
Venue: Mai Po Nature Reserve
Enrollment: 30 primary school teachers
Content:
  • Introduction of Gei wai and sustainable development
  • Making of art works inspired by nature
  • Demonstration of shrimp harvesting ¡V understanding the economic and conservation values of Gei wai.

Remarks¡G

  • Teachers joining workshop 3 and 4 must be physically fit and able to swim 100m.
  • WWF will provide wet suits, life jackets, masks and snorkels.
  • Teachers are required to prepare for diving boots or sneakers and swimming suits
